The Makers Project is a portrait series celebrating the creatives shaping Connecticut—one story at a time.

Musicians. Farmers. Writers. Designers. People who get their hands dirty and hearts involved.

Each month, I spend time with one of them—on their turf, in their element—to capture not just what they make, but why they make it.

It’s slow by design. No rush, no noise—just real work, real people, and a lens pointed at the soul behind the craft.

Eric Lichter. Musician and owner of Dirt Floor Recording and Production.

The Makers Project is about more than pretty portraits.

It’s about documenting the pulse of creativity across Connecticut—quiet studios, noisy workshops, late-night edits, early-morning harvests. It’s about the people who bring ideas into form, not for likes, but because they have to.

I’m not in a rush. This isn’t a campaign or a trend. It’s a slow-growing archive. One person a month. Maybe two if I’m lucky.

The long-term dream? A book. A gallery show. A living map of creativity in our state. But for now—it’s one lens, one visit, one story at a time.

If you know someone whose work deserves a spotlight, nominate them.

If you are that someone, reach out. I’d love to meet you.
